Flatmates brings together images from different ends of the cultural spectrum: cartoons, television, toys and superheroes appear alongside classical painting, mythology and art history.

The series looks at how some images are treated as important, while others are seen as commercial or disposable, even when they shape us just as deeply.

Across layered painted surfaces, the figures overlap, interrupt and share space, creating not just a contrast between high and low culture, but a more complex negotiation between memory, taste, education and cultural legitimacy.
